Escape the city centre with a ride on the Taipei MRT and a climb to the best panoramic view of the Taipei skyline. Most people stick to the night markets, but the real Taipei travel experience happens on the outskirts. I took the Taipei MRT to the edge of the city, trading the urban noise for a quiet ascent through the lush, green landscape. It is a straightforward bit of Taipei hiking, just a series of stairs leading up the hillside. The effort is worth it when you reach the top. You get a clear, panoramic look at the Taipei skyline stretching out below. The train arrives on time. The carriage is clean enough that you don’t think twice about putting a bag down. Nobody eats, nobody litters, nobody treats the space as theirs alone. A single journey is between fifty pence and a pound fifty. A full day pass is about three pounds fifty. A metro is how a city moves its people between home and work, between family and friends. The floor of the train and the price of the ticket tell you what a place still expects of itself. Taipei still expects something. London is spending a fortune to show that it doesn’t. One is Homogeneous and High-Trust, and one once was. Some people become more hippie-like when they travel - for me, Travel reminds me of what we have lost to the Disciples of the Frankfurt School. From Xiangshan station, it’s a short walk through the park into the hills. The mountains sit right against the city. You tap in, you tap out, you walk. School groups, office workers, people who do this regularly because the air is still worth breathing. From the top, the skyline is there, 101 in the frame, a dense, functioning capital that has not given up on order. This is what a high-trust city still looks like when the code is intact. I filmed Paris with a hidden camera — Gare du Nord, the dealers, the camps under the freeway, the communist tables, the NGOs, and the train north. Then I followed the same route to Calais. Paris is being used as a depot. People arrive, they wait, they are moved. Tickets are not always checked. The French authorities know the corridor exists. I have filmed guards look the other way before. I filmed it again. This is the third film I have made in this city. The first two showed you the streets the brochures leave out. This one shows you where those streets lead. This report looks at the concerns surrounding lax border control and how these pressures are impacting local communities. I also reference data regarding ethnic demographics in England to provide context on the wider European situation. The video contrasts the city's advertised image with the streets the brochures skip. This is not your typical Paris travel guide. Instead, we examine the public disorder often overlooked by visitors and the complex reality of France migration currently shaping the city's landscape. Inside Malta’s Pantheon – The Luftwaffe Bomb That Failed to Explode! Climb the narrow spiral staircase of the Rotunda of Mosta and you find yourself standing inside one of the largest unsupported domes in the world — Malta’s own Pantheon. From the balcony you look down into the perfect circular space below, then out across the limestone rooftops of Mosta. The church was designed by Giorgio Grognet de Vassé, inspired by the Pantheon in Rome, and built largely by the voluntary labour of the townspeople themselves between 1833 and the 1860s. But the moment that sealed its place in history came on 9 April 1942. During Mass, a 500 kg Luftwaffe bomb punched straight through the dome, bounced across the marble floor… and never exploded. Almost nobody visits this 12,000-year-old site — because it’s off-limits to the public and guarded by the Military! Çakmaktepe is one of the earliest Neolithic sites in the Taş Tepeler region of southeastern Turkey. While other sites in the area have become better known, this location remains heavily restricted. Very few people have ever been allowed inside. In this video, I explore what archaeologists have uncovered here: around 50 circular houses carved directly into the bedrock, a large 16-metre communal building, and one of the most striking discoveries so far — a structure containing dozens of deliberately placed gazelle skulls. These findings offer rare insight into how early hunter-gatherer communities began to settle and create ritual spaces more than 12,000 years ago. Because access is so limited, this site has remained largely hidden from public view. What’s being found here could help us understand the very earliest stages of human settlement in this region. They found human bones hidden in the walls… and a haunting statue with its mouth stitched shut. At Sayburç, a 12,600-year-old Neolithic site in the Taş Tepeler region of southeastern Turkey, archaeologists have uncovered something extraordinary. Inside special communal buildings, they found clusters of human bones from secondary burials — some burned and defleshed — carefully placed in niches and walls. They also discovered a striking 2025 find: a human bust with its mouth stitched closed and ribs prominently carved, believed to symbolise the silence of death and ancestor rituals. But perhaps most fascinating of all is the world’s earliest known narrative art — a powerful 3.7-metre-long carved relief showing humans and dangerous animals in a connected story. These special buildings also contain evidence of large-scale feasting, including grinding stones and the chemical traces of what may be some of the earliest proto-beer ever made. This raises a powerful question: could ritual beer and communal feasting have helped spark the Neolithic revolution — before farming was even fully established? Today I’m taking you deep into southeastern Turkey to one of the most fascinating and overlooked places in the ancient world — Harran. But Harran’s story goes far beyond the Bible. For thousands of years, this was a major centre of worship for the moon god Sin, home to one of the most important temples in the ancient world. We also stand on the very plains where, in 53 BC, the Roman general Crassus suffered one of Rome’s most humiliating defeats at the hands of the Parthians. Later, Harran became an important centre of learning under Islamic rule, producing scholars and becoming one of the earliest centres of higher education. However, that tolerance eventually ended. Islamic rulers destroyed the last remaining temples to the moon god and suppressed the old pagan traditions. Then, in the 13th century, the Mongols sacked Harran, destroying buildings, walls, and infrastructure, leaving the once-great city in ruins from which it never fully recovered. Today, Harran is best known for its extraordinary beehive houses — strange, conical mud-brick homes that are one of the main reasons people visit this historic place. They stand as a living link to the past. I drove deep into the remote Tek Tek Mountains of southeastern Turkey to reach one of the most important — and still largely unknown — archaeological sites in the world: Karahan Tepe. This 11,400-year-old site was built by hunter-gatherers long before farming existed, and fresh evidence suggests it may actually be older than Göbekli Tepe. Inside this video, I share what I discovered on the ground… including the brand-new 2025 find that’s turning heads — a T-shaped pillar with a carved human face. But there’s also a darker side to this story that I need to talk about.
